EMERGING RECORDING ARTISTS

E.R.A. originals program includes one weekly 2-hour studio session (which can be combined with a weekly 45-minute lesson). It's commonplace for young musicians who meet at The Rock Underground to eventually want to form bands and start writing, gigging and recording as soon as possible. We provide a support system that presents them with a genuine idea of what it's like to be a little voice with a big idea then turn that idea into a signature sound and record it.

Enrollment is year round and open ended. In addition to a weekly individual lesson, a Producer/Coach gives the bands instruction on how to write, record, and produce recordings of their own original songs. Generally two songs per 12-week season are produced. Throughout the season students are provided with hands on opportunities from recording their own music to working as a team to produce and record a show. Additionally, bands are taught how to rehearse, tighten up, pace a show, and prepare for a performance. Bands also have the opportunity to reserve a TRU Live Room to present a showcase or demo release party.

E.R.A. can also be directed towards individual singer-songwriters, in which case each studio session is 45-minutes and may be paired with private lessons.

Recording and production lessons

Some students may not be interested in learning an instrument, but love being involved in the music scene and working with musicians and artists. Work with one of our well-trained instructors  and learn the ins and outs of how music is recorded and produced and get direct experience recording students in the school. Lessons may focus on learning of Pro Tools, Logic, or Ableton Live software. Recording and production lessons can also be geared towards Live Sound production, for which students can pair lessons with running live sound for our ensembles during rehearsals and shows!

Recording and Production Lessons are also great for singer-songwriters or band members who have an interest and passion for writing, recording and producing their own music!
