MICHAEL VETTER
Drum Instructor
Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Micheal Vetter was introduced to the drum set since day one. With his father being a drummer and music educator, the rest was history. Michael started pursuing music seriously in early high school after some years of middle/high school band and jazz band. Although Michael has studied with Jimmy Cobb and Frank Bellucci for a short period of time, Michael gained an understanding in the functionality of the drum set almost exclusively by playing music with other musicians and the technicality behind the drums by transcribing other drummers by ear. Michael later enrolled in Nassau Community College to study music performance, where he currently is a private drum instructor. His style is delegated but not limited to jazz, rock, metal, latin, funk, hip hop, reggae and any improvisational approach. Michaels goals for students are for them to be more than drummers, but musicians who make musical decisions, and most importantly - to be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses we all uniquely possess, and to mold by enriching that dichotomy into a distinctive sound.
