James Jamerson

Motown Session bassist, James Jamerson has been remembered as single-handedly revolutionizing bass playing, being one of the most influential bassists in modern music history. Jamerson shaped a new inventive style of bass playing, being the first to incorporate a fresh perspective and intuitiveness. Born January 29, 1936 in Charleston, North Carolina Jamerson had his own Jazz and Blues background, although he knew how to define harmony and how to drive it forward from a young age.
